Johanna Maria Eleanor Green

21st July 1983 — 20th July 2023

The loss of our brilliant Johanna, the day before her 40th birthday, has been incredibly sad for all of us.

We are also so glad, and grateful, to have known and loved her, and to have felt her love in return. Nothing can ever change that, and that is the mark she leaves on this world and on all of us. We are all better just for having known her.

She was a wonderful daughter to Wynn and Dave, the most loyal and loving friend to so many, and of course Auntie Jo to her special niblings. She was also an inspiration to those who knew her through her work as a book historian, or as someone sharing her experience with cancer. She always gave her time, energy and knowledge to anyone who needed it. The outpouring of deep respect and gratitude from people all over the world on the news of her passing has been a comfort to those closest to her.

We will never forget her laughter and her sense of fun, and how she was always the person who encouraged us to live our own lives to the fullest. We will all do that now, in her memory.

Memories are all we have at the end of the day
